Phase 3 – Unity in the Journey

The Elders want to thank the whole Church for their significant efforts last year to help give the Cathcarts a wonderful farewell. So our challenge now is to grow in unity together.

The good news is, the Ministry Search Team have diligently worked through and prayed about the applications made to our senior minister advertisement, which closed on 18 November 2011. The Search Team interviewed 3 candidates and after two meetings with each, sought references for 2 of the candidates. Again with a significant amount of discussion, reflection and prayer the Search Team made a unanimous recommendation to the Elders to interview one of the candidates.

The Elders and the Ministry Team met with this fellow yesterday and we are hopeful that over the coming few weeks that we will progress these discussions. If God continues to confirm his leading, the Elders will work to finalise our recommendation and call for a vote from the Church congregation by the end of this month. He is currently working and obviously we cannot discuss any of the details until we have finalised our recommendation.

Thank you for your prayer support, we have been conscious of the Holy Spirit’s presence amongst us and the fellowship he has sowed in us throughout the search journey. Please continue to pray for the leadership of the Church, particularly for the extra burden being shouldered by Richard and Tina. Pray for our new leader, that God would make paths straight to bring our new Senior Minister and his family to us.
